Keeping Pain To A Minimum

If dental implants were too painful of a procedure, not many people would be in line to get them. However, the reason dental implants are overwhelmingly popular is that the pain is in fact, minimal. During the procedure, you have your options as to what level of anesthesia you want. If you want to be completely sedated, we can do that. Maybe you are fine with local anesthesia which is another option. However, we do recommend full sedation as it allows us unfettered access to your mouth and to position you as we need to.

Dental Implant Surgery Overview

When it’s time for your actual surgery, you’ll need to bring someone who you trust to care for you and get you home. Since this is a one day surgery, you will be a bit disoriented after the procedure due to pain meds and the residual effects of anesthesia. The procedure involves several steps which include:

Extraction of the teeth we’re replacing
If needed, bone grafting (to add jawbone support)
Placing the dental implant
Osseointegration and site healing
Attaching the abutment
Attaching the permanent restoration

Depending on the type of dental implant procedure, the process can take a few months from consult to completion. It all depends on each individual’s circumstances. The entire process can take many months from start to finish. Much of that time is devoted to healing and waiting for the growth of new bone in your jaw. Depending on your situation, the specific procedure done or the materials used, certain steps can sometimes be combined.

I highly recommend CDG. I was driven to write a review after receiving my veneers! I’ve been going to CDG for decades and have always been pleased with their service. Their equipment is state-of-the-art, they’re knowledgeable and the atmosphere is warm and inviting.

Meghann has been the best hygienist I’ve ever had! My entire family loves her! She strikes the perfect balance between professionalism, skill and confidence while providing a lovely personal touch.

Dr. Cuellar and Kipp did an awesome job delivering my veneers. No one will ever believe my two front teeth are not my real teeth. Perfection! Each visit he and Kipp made me feel comfortable and relaxed. During the process they were returned twice because Dr. Cuellar was not satisfied with the shade. He refused to move forward until they met his standard. I am very pleased with the results!

I have been doing a lot of searching roughly for at least 4 years for the best Dental Implant Dentist. One day as I was watching one of the Television Channels in Houston, Dr. Hanna was the guest along with one of the clinic's client being interviewed. After that episode I decided that " Dr. Hanna " will be that Implant Dentist that i have been looking for. I therefore contacted Comprehensive Dental Group of Houston right away and scheduled an appointment. On day one I was already amazed of the excellent customer service that I received. Everyone in the clinic are very professional, nice and made sure that I was comfortable including my husband . All my questions and concerns were answered in a timely manner. The cost of the Implant and whole process were explained clearly and to me it was reasonable. During the Implant procedure all the staff made sure that I was comfortable and explained all the post procedure expectations. I am very happy and satisfied with the excellent customer service that I received. Many Thanks to Dr. Hanna and to all the staff for all the hard work and dedication. I therefore highly recommend Comprehensive Dental Group of Houston for and any Dental services and Implant needs.

Update on my review: My final teeth were placed after months of careful adjustments to ensure that it was the right fit. I was so happy and impressed how it looked really good and felt right. Comprehensive Dental Group is the best dental practice I’ve been to by far. Everyone there is super knowledgeable and so kind. Dr. Hanna did a terrific and flawless job on my brand new smile and having the all on four procedure has really changed my life. Preparing For The Procedure

A lot goes into the dental implant procedure before the actual surgery takes place. The planning that goes into it is critical. It involves working with your dentist, possibly some specialists such as a maxillofacial surgeon.

Since dental implants are such an intricate surgical process, we must perform a thorough evaluation to ensure success. This evaluation is integral to the process and includes:

Comprehensive Exam— We’ll get 3-D imaging and x-rays done to ensure all is well and have models created of your jaw and teeth. This aids in designing the implants to be a perfect fit for your mouth.

Medical History Review— Make sure to disclose any medical issues you have and any medications you’re on. This includes both prescription and over-the-counter medications or supplements. Certain conditions such as diabetes and heart issues may complicate the healing process if precautions aren’t taken.
